About the Author

“We need to talk…. sit down”

That’s how it started. I sat my parents down and told them that for the past 8 months I’d been planning to move to the capital of bike racing; the Flanders region of Belgium. I wanted to learn the craft of my chosen sport. But it’s more than that: I want to rid myself of the feeling of comfort; knowing what is going to happen tomorrow and the week after. I want to pit my back against the wall so that I have to fight harder than Hell to get what I want. Will I achieve?

My name is Mitch, and I’m a bike racer. I live in Avon Lake, Ohio, but I will be making Belgium my home on February 15th. I started riding as a 200 pound, 14 year-old, and I’ve been racing for four years this year.

As to my writing; I don’t know what an adverb, or an adjective or a preposition is, I’ve failed multiple English classes in school, and I’ve never been to college, so excuse me if it’s a little drawn out or poorly written.
